Terms of service

Last updated September 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account and using Vouch (the "Service"), you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Continuing to use the Service after we update these terms means you accept the updated terms.

2. What Vouch does

Vouch is a private intermediary, run by AI, that helps you (the "Seeker") reach someone you have lost touch with (the "Receiver"). Vouch drafts the outreach and sends it as itself, a neutral third party. It never impersonates you, and it identifies itself as a service run by AI. Vouch facilitates communication; it does not guarantee any outcome, response, or reconciliation.

3. Consent to outreach

By completing an intake and approving the outreach, you explicitly authorize Vouch to contact the Receiver on your behalf using the information you provided. This is your informed consent. By doing so you also confirm the following:

  • You have a genuine personal or professional relationship with the Receiver that predates your use of Vouch.
  • You are not using Vouch to get around any communication boundary the Receiver has set, including blocked contacts, restraining orders, or explicit requests for no contact.
  • You understand that the Receiver may choose not to respond, and you accept that outcome.

4. Your legal responsibility

You are solely responsible for making sure your use of Vouch complies with all applicable laws, including:

  • Restraining and protective orders. You must not use Vouch to contact anyone you are legally prohibited from contacting.
  • Harassment and stalking laws. You must not use Vouch to harass, intimidate, or stalk anyone.
  • Spam and electronic messaging laws. You acknowledge that outreach messages are sent on your behalf and with your authorization.

Vouch (the company, its officers, employees, and affiliates) is not responsible for any legal consequences of your decision to contact the Receiver. By using the Service, you agree to indemnify and hold Vouch harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities that result from your outreach.

5. Receiver rights

The Receiver has the following rights at all times:

  • To ignore any outreach from Vouch without consequence.
  • To ask Vouch to stop all further communication for a specific request, which we honor.
  • To ask never to be contacted through Vouch again. This is a global opt out that applies to all future requests from anyone, not just the current one.
  • To engage only after confirming control of their own email address with a passcode. Vouch never asks identity verification questions.
  • To request access to, or deletion of, their data by emailing privacy@pleasevouch.com. We handle these requests manually.

6. Follow up limits

If the Receiver does not respond to the initial outreach, Vouch may send up to three (3) follow up messages at increasing intervals. Follow ups are brief and respectful. The Seeker can configure the number and timing of follow ups but cannot exceed the platform maximum of three.

If the Receiver asks for no further contact at any point, all follow ups are cancelled immediately regardless of configuration.

7. Payments, credits, and refunds

Vouch uses a credit system. One credit starts one story (a reconnection request to one Receiver), and the credit is spent when the story is started. Credit prices are shown at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe; Vouch never stores your card details. Credits do not expire, and there is no subscription.

  • You are never charged for an outcome. A credit pays for the attempt. Vouch does not charge more if the Receiver responds, and does not refund based on how the Receiver chooses to respond.
  • Automatic refund if we cannot proceed. If a story cannot continue before any outreach is sent, for example because a safety review stops it or the Receiver has opted out of being contacted through Vouch, the credit is returned to your balance automatically.
  • If something goes wrong on our side, a story you paid for will be recovered or the credit refunded. Contact support@pleasevouch.com. Credit refunds are limited to once per story.

8. Data and privacy

Information collected during intake is stored securely and used solely to facilitate your reconnection. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to deliver the Service. See our privacy policy for full details.

9. Prohibited uses

You may not use Vouch to:

  • Contact someone you are legally prohibited from contacting.
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate any individual.
  • Provide false information about yourself or your relationship.
  • Impersonate another person.
  • Solicit or market anything commercially.

10. Limitation of liability

Vouch is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Receiver will respond, that reconciliation will occur, or that any particular outcome will result from using the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vouch is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if we determine that you are violating these terms, using the Service in bad faith, or attempting to circumvent safety measures.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
