1. Information we collect
From Seekers. Your email address, display name, pronouns, and the information you share during the intake conversation, including details about your relationship with the Receiver, your goals for reconnecting, and shared history.
From Receivers. Your email address (provided by the Seeker), your display name and pronouns if you choose to sign in, and any messages you send if you choose to engage. Receivers sign in with a passcode sent to their email. We never ask identity verification questions.
Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive and keep purchase records (amount, date, and a payment reference). We never see or store your card number.
2. How we use your information
- To facilitate the reconnection process between Seeker and Receiver.
- To draft respectful outreach on the Seeker's behalf using AI.
- To confirm that a Receiver controls their email address before they engage.
- To send outreach messages and follow ups on the Seeker's behalf.
- To improve the Service and keep it safe.
3. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- AI model provider (Anthropic). Conversation content is processed to generate responses for your request. It is not used to train their models.
- Cloud hosting and email delivery (Microsoft Azure). The Service runs on Azure, and outreach emails are sent through Azure Communication Services.
- Payment processing (Stripe). Stripe handles card payments. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us.
- Analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity), only if you accept cookies. They receive page visits on our public pages and never any conversation content. Section 5 has the details.
- As required by law or legal process.
4. Data retention and your choices
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request access to, or deletion of, your account and associated data by emailing privacy@pleasevouch.com. We handle these requests manually. There is not yet a self service export or delete option, and we honor applicable data protection rights (such as GDPR and CCPA) where they apply to you.
One deliberate exception: if you ask never to be contacted through Vouch again, we keep the minimal record needed to honor that request (your email address on a suppression list). Deleting it would defeat the request itself.
5. Cookies and analytics
Essential cookies. Two cookies are always set: the one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers your cookie choice for a year. Neither is used for advertising.
Optional analytics, only with your consent. If you accept on the cookie banner, Vouch loads Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity on its public pages: the home page, about, pricing, questions and answers, the blog, and these legal pages. They tell us which pages people visit, roughly where visitors come from, and how they move around a page. Clarity records anonymised replays of public pages with typed text masked. Google receives a shortened IP address, and we keep its advertising features turned off. Nothing loads until you choose. Analytics never runs on the sign in, account, story, receiver, or admin pages, so your conversations and the people you reach out to are never part of it.
Your choice. Decline and no analytics loads. Change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline and do not show the banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. How Google and Microsoft handle the data they receive is described in Google's privacy policy and Microsoft's privacy statement. We ask for consent everywhere, not only where GDPR, ePrivacy, or California's CCPA and CPRA require it.
6. Receiver data rights
Receivers contacted through Vouch have the right to:
- Decline, ignore, or choose no contact. That stops further outreach for the request and blocks that Seeker from reaching them through Vouch again.
- Ask never to be contacted through Vouch again. This global opt out covers all future requests from anyone, and we honor it before any outreach is sent.
- Request access to, or deletion of, any data Vouch holds about them by emailing privacy@pleasevouch.com. We handle these requests manually.
7. Security
We use industry standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
